About SAHOS

Our Story

SAHOS was born in 2018 when three university friends - Sarah Osei, Hakeem Mensah, and Olivia Sarfo - recognized a critical gap in financial education for young people in Ghana. As students themselves, they struggled to manage their limited finances and noticed that most of their peers were facing similar challenges. Despite being academically successful, they realized that their education had neglected a crucial life skill: managing personal finances.

What began as informal budget workshops in their university dormitory quickly gained popularity among fellow students. The trio developed simple spreadsheets and tracking tools that were accessible and practical for students living on tight budgets. Word spread beyond their campus, and they started receiving requests from other educational institutions to present their methods.

In 2019, they secured their first small grant from a local financial institution to formalize their training materials and expand their reach. By 2020, during the global pandemic, they pivoted to create digital versions of their resources, which unexpectedly accelerated their growth as their online platform reached students across West Africa.

Today, SAHOS has grown from a grassroots initiative into a respected financial education platform serving thousands of young people and beginners across Africa and beyond. Our headquarters in Accra continues to embody the same core mission that inspired our founders: making financial literacy accessible to everyone, regardless of their background or starting point.

Our Mission & Values

Our Mission

At SAHOS, our mission is to democratize financial education by providing accessible, practical tools and knowledge that empower young people and financial beginners to take control of their economic future. We believe that financial literacy should not be a privilege but a fundamental right that enables individuals to make informed decisions, build security, and achieve their life goals.

Our Core Values

Accessibility

We ensure that financial education is available to everyone, regardless of their economic status, education level, or background. We intentionally design our resources to be understood by complete beginners while remaining useful to those with more experience.

Practicality

We focus on actionable knowledge that can be immediately applied to improve real financial situations. Our methods are tested in real-world conditions and designed to work with limited resources and diverse financial challenges.

Transparency

We believe in complete honesty about financial matters. We clearly explain all concepts, avoid jargon, and are upfront about the benefits and limitations of different financial approaches. We never promote get-rich-quick schemes or unrealistic expectations.

Empowerment

We don't just provide information—we build confidence and capability. Our goal is for every person we reach to feel equipped to make independent financial decisions without depending on our platform indefinitely.
